Summary about the position: The Military Entrance Processing Station plays a vital role in maintaining the nation's military might by ensuring that each new member of the Armed Forces meets the high mental, moral, and medical standards required by the DoD and the military services. Experience Required GS-05: To qualify based on your experience, your resume must clearly describe at least one year of specialized experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as experience that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled such as: Briefing personnel on procedures to ensure compliance with regulations; Obtaining data from others to verify eligibilities for employment and/or to update records; Utilizing office automation software programs to accomplish task (such as preparing correspondence, reports, spreadsheets, graphs, etc.). This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-4).

TYPING: This position requires a typing proficiency of at least 40 words per minute (WPM) based on a 5-minute sample with 3 of fewer errors.
Time in Grade Requirement: Candidates may be advanced without time restriction up to GS-5, if the position to be filled is no more than two grades above the lowest grade the employee held within the preceding 52 weeks under his or her latest non temporary competitive appointment.
