Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Power BI Manager to guide the design, development, and deployment of enterprise-grade business intelligence solutions. This working manager role combines hands-on Power BI development with day-to-day leadership of ACES' BI function. You will oversee development standards, shape data architecture direction, manage team workload, and contribute directly to complex reporting and modeling efforts.
The ideal candidate has deep expertise in Power BI, Microsoft Fabric, and modern data architecture. You will partner with stakeholders across the organization, lead governance initiatives, establish best practices, and mentor junior developers while helping to shape the future of ACES' analytics capabilities.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Management
• Lead, mentor, and coach junior and mid-level Power BI developers, providing code review, technical guidance, and professional development.
• Oversee workload distribution, project planning, and delivery timelines for the BI team.
• Establish BI development standards, best practices, documentation requirements, and governance policies.
• Partner with IT leadership to align BI initiatives with enterprise strategy, capacity planning, and resource needs.
• Serve as the primary point of escalation for BI architecture, performance, governance, and stakeholder alignment.
Development & Implementation
• Design and implement advanced Power BI dashboards and reports tailored to business needs.
• Build and optimize semantic data models using DAX and Power Query (M).
• Integrate data from diverse sources including Microsoft Fabric components (Warehouse, Lakehouse, Dataflow Gen2).
• Manage Power BI workspaces, access control, and versioning.
Data Analysis & Reporting
• Analyze complex datasets using SQL, KQL, or PySpark.
• Create interactive, user-friendly visualizations that support strategic decision-making.
• Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and performance across reporting assets.
Collaboration & Leadership
• Work closely with stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Collaborate with Data Engineering and AI teams to deliver cohesive analytics platforms.
• Mentor junior developers and promote best practices in BI development.
Governance & Optimization
• Implement and maintain Power BI governance, including security, version control, and documentation.
• Stay current with Power BI and Microsoft Fabric advancements, recommending improvements and innovations.

Required Qualifications:
• 8+ years of experience in enterprise BI development, with deep Power BI expertise.
• Expert proficiency in DAX, Power Query (M), SQL.
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric (OneLake, Warehouse, Lakehouse, Dataflow Gen2).
• Experience with Azure Data Factory, Synapse Analytics, Power Platform.
• Strong leadership, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Microsoft certifications such as PL-300 (Power BI Data Analyst) or DP-500 (Azure Enterprise Data Analyst).
• Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS).
• Familiarity with other BI/reporting tools.
• Experience delivering internal training or workshops.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
• Ability to exert up to 10 pounds of force and lift/move up to 15 pounds
• Ability to sit for long periods of time (up to 3 hours at a time) during the scheduled workday
