POSITION SUMMARY USA Lacrosse is looking for an
unpaid/for credit intern to work with our Marketing team. The Intern, Editorial will work closely with the USA Lacrosse Magazine and Digital teams to produce digital media and editorial content to support USA Lacrosse's editorial, marketing, and social media initiatives.
If you are a driven and enthusiastic student aspiring to enter the sports marketing industry in a reporting and editing capacity, this could be a great opportunity for you. This internship will allow you to learn about working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment, interfacing with multiple departments while gaining hands-on experience and learning essential editorial and storytelling practices for your professional growth and future career.
A Typical Day Looks Like... - Assists with basic day-to-day website functions, including the editing and posting of articles.
- Writes and reports stories as assigned.
- Aids in the packaging of stories for all social platforms.
- Collaborates with the digital media team to ensure consistency in visual style and branding across all content.
- Assists with other digital media tasks as needed, such as social media content creation and multimedia production.

What Will Be Expected of You - You will report to work each day you are scheduled on time, presenting yourself in a professional manner though your appearance and interactions with others.
- You are empowered to ask questions to help learn and understand not only what you are doing, but why you are doing It.
- You will be asked to complete a "final report" about your internship experience to Include:
- What did you learn about USA Lacrosse.
- What did you learn about your field of study and the responsibilities of the department you worked in.
- Explain your roles and responsibilities and talk about any project(s) you did.
- Reflect on skills and work habits you learn that you will take with you as you start your career.
Is This You... - Current student pursuing a Bachelor's degree, preferably in digital media, communications, marketing, or related field. Eligibility to earn college credit for internship a plus.
- Ability to dedicate 15-30 hours per week from May to August 2026. This includes the ability to work onsite at USA Lacrosse's headquarters office in Sparks, MD.
- Familiarity with sports, lacrosse a plus, with the desire to learn and appreciate the sport so you can capture images to tell a story.
- Demonstrated understanding of digital media software and editing platforms.
- Working knowledge of standard CMS functionality.
- Working knowledge of Adobe Suite (i.e., Premiere, Photoshop, InDesign).
- Demonstrated passion and enthusiasm for reporting and writing.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team in a fast-paced, dynamic, cross-functional team working toward a common goal.
- Flexibility with your work schedule, including the ability to work nights and weekends based on event needs.
- Ability to align with USA Lacrosse's Mission, Vision, and Values to support our initiatives and organizational goals.
Expected Hours of Work This position is generally expected to work part-time (15 to 30 hours per week) during the work week (Monday through Friday) between the hours of 8:30am to 5:00pm with occasional work on nights and/or weekends based on event and business needs. This is a hybrid position and works from the headquarters office in Sparks, MD three (3) days a week with the flexibility to work from home two (2) days a week.
