Position Title: Insulation/Firestopping
Position Summary:
Workers will learn the rules and regulations of the mechanical insulation and firestopping industries. The individuals will learn to read blueprints, UL systems & codes, as well as install the materials with tools of the trade.
Workers must be a member in good standing with the Union, Local 132 of the International Association of Heat & Frost Insulators & Allied Workers (AFL-CIO). Workers must be current with all dues & membership fees.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Removes/Installs thermal/acoustical insulation and firestopping materials per plans, specifications, and other relevant documents.
- Attends jobsite, company, and other meetings, as required.
- Updates job knowledge by participating in educational and professional development opportunities.
Qualifications and Skills : - Must be at least 18 years of age.
- High School degree or equivalent required.
- Ability to read and understand common construction documents and blueprints.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively within a team.
- Basic written and oral communication skills required.
Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in a construction environment, both indoors and outdoors, which may include work at heights, tight spaces, high heat, poor light, and other typical construction work site hazards. The employee will be required to safely and correctly utilize Personal Protective Equipment, including safety glasses, hard hats, and respirators. The employee may work alone or as part of a team.

There is prolonged standing and walking, lifting and carrying of materials and tools, repetitive use of tools, occasional crawling, working in tight spaces, working at various heights, use of stairs, use of scaffolding, climbing/descending ladders.
