Summary
The full salary range for the position is ($62,321.91- $93,482.87) with an anticipated starting salary between entry ($62,321.91) and midpoint ($77,902.39) of the range. It's essential to note that the actual salary offered will be determined based on several factors, including skills, qualifications, experience, education, certifications, training and internal equity considerations.
Purpose of Role:
The Accountant maintains accurate capital asset and financial records and supports the Agency's financial reporting and audit processes. This role reconciles accounts, assists with preparation of the Annual Comprehensive Financial Reports, ensures compliance with GASB standards, and supports internal controls to ensure accurate and compliant financial reporting.
Minimum Qualifications & Requirements
Bachelor's degree in accounting and three (3) years of experience in:
- Financial statement and capital asset experience
- General ledger accounting
- OR an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.
- Additional education cannot be substituted for experience.
Desired Qualifications: - Experience in a governmental or public-sector accounting environment, including exposure to GAAP and GASB standards.
- Demonstrate experience using ERP systems, financial reporting tools, and advanced Excel functions to support accurate analysis and reporting.
- Ability to collaborate effectively across teams and clearly communicate financial information.

- Records and maintains capital asset activity, including additions, deletions, and construction in progress, and prepares related monthly reports.
- Assists with the timely preparation and distribution of two Annual Comprehensive Financial Reports including audit schedules, trial balances, financial statements, journal entries, and grant-related revenue and expenditure reports.
- Reviews and audits accounting and financial documents for accuracy and compliance; maintains accounting records and supports documentation for transactions, schedules, and financial statements.
- Analyzes and interprets accounting records to support fiscal year-end closure and the preparation of accurate and complete financial reports and summaries.
- Prepares workpapers and documentation for internal and external audits, responds to audit requests, explains financial practices, and assists with implementing recommended corrective actions.
- Reconciles accounts, investigates discrepancies, prepares adjusting journal entries, and conducts physical inventory as required.
- Performs other duties of a similar nature and level as assigned.
