Water Treatment Supervisor

Description:

Clean Harbors is looking for a passionate and skilled Water Treatment Supervisor to join our dynamic Water Remediation Team. This vital role involves overseeing our operations on-site while managing teams of Environmental Technicians at our facility in Kapolei, HI.

We currently offer multiple schedules, with the expectation of working between 40 to 90 hours per week. This includes shift work that may require 12-14 hour days, along with on-call weekends.

Compensation based on experience: $26-$36 per hour

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure that health and safety remains the top goal by adhering to policies and executing safe practices at all times;
  • Supervise multiple employees and manage a single plant operation effectively;
  • Engage directly in plant operations as needed;
  • Operate a forklift as necessary;
  • Oversee and maintain all required documentation for operations and ensure timely submission post-completion;
  • Enforce adherence to all relevant Health and Safety Standard Operating Procedures among employees;
  • Ensure that operations staff meets all compliance regulations;
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment;
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by management based on business needs.

Qualifications

What You Need to Work with Clean Harbors:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required;
  • Associate or Bachelor's degree in Environmental Studies is preferred;
  • Experience in water treatment, filtration systems, or wastewater treatment processes is highly preferred;
  • Water certifications are a plus;
  • Valid and clean driver's license with an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record;
  • Knowledge of RCRA requirements and regulations;
  • Comprehension of necessary manpower and equipment for project completion;
  • Proven leadership skills;
  • Willingness to be available for 24-hour on-call duty;
  • Strong mechanical aptitude is preferred;
  • Understanding of chemical handling is beneficial;
  • Familiarity with DOT regulations, EPA waste codes, and manifesting is preferred;
  • Must pass a federal background check upon hire, essential for work eligibility at the site;
  • Willingness to take on additional duties as required by management.

Physical Requirements:

  • Capable of pulling/pushing, carrying, grasping, reaching, crawling, stooping, and crouching in confined spaces; walking, climbing, speaking, listening, color determination, and clarity of vision at a distance;
  • Available for 24-hour on-call duty;
  • Requires proficiency in speaking, writing, and comprehending English;
  • Position entails physical exertion, requiring standing and lifting items up to 50 pounds.
