COMMUNITY LENDING MORTGAGE SPECIALIST

WHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY?

We are seeking a dynamic Community Lending Mortgage Specialist to drive the sales of first mortgage and concurrent second loan products to a diverse range of clients. In this role, you will engage in outside sales activities to cultivate new business and enhance relationships with clients by providing tailored mortgage solutions. You will meet with clients to assess their needs, ethically market our mortgage products, and actively work to expand your network of referral sources. Regular travel to client sites and referral sources is a key aspect of this position.

WHAT WILL YOU DO?

  • Engage in outside sales to originate residential mortgage loans and related bank products while building a network of professional referral sources, such as realtors and financial advisors.
  • Visit clients and referral sources at their locations to prospect and originate mortgage loans.
  • Provide ethical loan counseling to all potential applicants.
  • Act as a liaison between the bank and customers to ensure timely processing and superior customer service.
  • Complete loan applications in accordance with bank policies and applicable laws.
  • Forward complete application packages for processing while adhering to TRID requirements.
  • Implement strategies to meet written sales and business development goals.
  • Meet or exceed established quantitative and qualitative sales goals.
  • Stay updated on sales techniques, product offerings, and industry trends.
  • Utilize software systems related to mortgage originations effectively.
  • Participate in regular sales meetings, training sessions, and bank functions.
  • Develop and maintain community relationships for business development purposes.
  • Commit to community service and support for nonprofit organizations.
  • Focus on increasing mortgage loan volume, particularly in underserved communities.

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO SUCCEED?

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma.
  • 5+ years of retail residential mortgage sales experience.
  • 3+ years on a community lending team.
  • 5+ years of experience with diverse and underserved clients.
  • Must be registered with the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System and in good standing under the Safe Act.

Additional Qualifications

  • Preferred network of professional and nonprofit referrals.
  • BA/BS degree preferred, with a focus in business, finance, or economics.
  • Demonstrated sales and marketing skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Experience with Net Oxygen, Salesforce, Blend, and Microsoft Office preferred.
  • Knowledge of mortgage credit policies and compliance standards.
  • Commitment to the Bank's community investment and fair banking efforts.
