We are seeking a Division Manager/Division Engineer to join our Oahu, HI team! Come join us!

Position Overview:

The Hawaii Division Manager will oversee all operations within the Hawaii Division and provide leadership to ensure operational excellence through quality, safety, and exceeding customer service expectations. The Hawaii Division operates primarily in the Oahu and Maui islands and provides special inspection and testing services utilizing a unionized labor force but also provides geotechnical engineering capabilities.

Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Responsible for providing the necessary leadership to plan, organize, assign, direct, coordinate, and control the field and lab operations to meet all client requests within the Division.
  • Assume primary ownership of all business development and marketing activities to increase sales and revenue levels.
  • Assume primary ownership of all bidding activities including project estimating.
  • Manage all aspects of the operation including:
    • Oversee and coordinate inspection services via communication with Dispatch, inspectors, client project team and construction documents
    • Oversee and coordinate out-of-scope services and off-site inspections
    • Oversee laboratory operations
    • Resolve project issues and complaints by communicating with clients, contractors and site representatives to resolve inspection and/or testing issues
  • Oversee management of inspector/technician's certifications, company safety programs, and any other related personnel issues
  • Oversee Dispatch of inspectors every evening as well as orient inspectors on new projects as needed. Ensure all inspectors and technicians have all necessary equipment, information and all project documents, including required passes, construction documents, for projects.
  • Work with personnel as needed regarding identified issues with daily time sheets and reports for accuracy and completeness.
  • Ensure employee adherence to all safety programs, completion of training modules, and collaborate with Human Resources to maintain safety files and records.
  • Oversee the publication of all field and laboratory reports to clients and representatives.
  • Interface with union personnel to ensure adherence to union contract.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Minimum requirements:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering along with a Professional Engineer (PE) or preferably a Geotechnical Engineer (GE) license.
  • Experience: At least 5 years of leadership experience in the special inspection and materials testing services industry, geotechnical engineering industry, or a closely related field. This experience should include P&L management experience.
  • Proven Track Record: Demonstrated success in leading a large division, including growing revenues, managing teams, and achieving financial and operational goals.
  • Industry Expertise: In-depth understanding of best practices in the special inspection and materials testing services sector and/or geotechnical engineering services sector.
  • Leadership Skills: Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to lead diverse teams and build strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and industry partners.
  • Problem-Solving: A creative and solutions-oriented approach to overcoming challenges and achieving business objectives.
