Job Information: Food Runner (On-Call) JobShare Email Opening Apply Now TitleFood Runner (On-Call)DescriptionPay Range: $26.70 - $33.37/hourly compensationNote: This requisition is for an on-call positionFood runner/expeditor communicates orders and information between the front of houseand back of house, making sure that food is cooked in the right order, quickly, and presented to the customer as beautifully as possible in a timely and complete manner.Position RequirementsEssential Functions:* Ensures that all kitchen orders are prepared in a timely manner and according to menu and customer specifications.* May also finalize the presentation of the plate and test the temperature of the food.* Directs the kitchen and wait staff who are delivering completed orders, to keep orders flowing from the kitchen to the diners and maintain timely service.* In charge of the final presentation of the plate, making sure it is dressed and garnished correctly and free from smudges or spills.* They explain special orders to the cooks, and tell servers when the kitchen is out of a particular menu item.*

  • Candidate must possess exceptional organization, coordination and communication skills.* Must be able to call out orders across a line and maintain composure in a loud, hot environment.* May handle customer complaints, strong customer service skills are important.* With hours of bending, standing and working in hot conditions, must be in good physical condition.Education/Training Requirements:* High School Diploma or General Education Diploma required.** Culinary training and/or restaurant certifications preferred.* Experience/Skill Requirements:* Minimum two (2) years restaurant and/or hotel food and beverage and/or culinary experience required.** Previous supervisory experience required.** Experience in a first-class, luxury restaurant and hotel required.** Leadership Skills: Essential for successful execution between the kitchen and floor.** Sense of Taste and Smell** Time Management skills and able to Multi-Task* Licenses/Certifications:* Certification of tuberculosis clearance required.** CPR and Standard First Aid Certification preferred.** Food handler's permit or certification*Full-Time/Part-Time On-Call Shift Various Shifts Position Food Runner Number of Openings 2 Exempt/Non-Exempt Non-Exempt Req Number VER-26-00003 EOE Statement We are an equal employment opportunity employer.
