GENERAL PURPOSE:
As a Loss Prevention Specialist, you will provide a visible presence to deter theft and fraud while cultivating a safe environment for both our Associates and Customers. This role involves greeting Customers with a friendly demeanor, monitoring compliance with safety policies, and collaborating with Store Leadership to minimize losses.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Maintaining a Safe & Secure Environment:
- Prioritize safety by assisting Store Leadership in creating a secure space for Associates and Customers.
- Deliver a strong presence through warm greetings and vigilant monitoring at Store entrances/exits and the sales floor.
- Keep emergency exits clear for safety by removing clutter.
Building Great Teams & Partnerships:
- Provide outstanding customer service by offering friendly greetings and assistance.
- Treat all individuals with respect and professionalism.
- Engage with internal and external partners for training, recognition, and team collaboration.
- Support Loss Prevention initiatives with additional tasks as needed.
Representing the Store Brand:
- Embodiment of the company brand through professional demeanor and appearance according to dress code.
Mitigating Theft & Fraud:
- Observe entrances/exits and sales floor for suspicious activity, reporting findings to leadership.
- Utilize information effectively to address loss trends.
- Follow theft response protocols set by the Company.
Minimizing Operational Shortages:
- Increase awareness among Store personnel about processes to reduce operational loss.
- Validate compliance during customer checkouts.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School diploma or equivalent required; AA degree preferred.
- One year of retail supervisory experience or relevant training preferred.
- Experience in loss prevention or security roles is advantageous.
- Active Security Guard License is a plus.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proven conflict resolution abilities.
- Must comply with applicable laws regarding security positions, including background checks and possible drug testing.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/ADA:
- Timely attendance is essential.
- Capable of standing, walking, and moving throughout the Store for the duration of shifts.
- Ability to lift objects over 25 lbs. and regularly bend or crouch as needed.
