Bishop & Company is seeking an Accounts Payable Clerk in Financial Services department, for a healthcare insurance company, through 2/28/2026. Need someone with strong computer skills who is able to multi-task. Temp must be detail-oriented as they must process invoices, check requests, expense reports, payments and journal entries accurately and timely. Temp must be able to meet strict deadlines and have good written and oral communication skills.
Primary duties: Receive and process more complex invoices, check requests and employee expense reports from vendors and business units in accordance with financial standards and guidelines. This position creates and updates vendors, reconciles more complex accounts, assists with cross-training of tasks with peers, assists with month-end accruals, performs recording of invoices, check requests, expense reports, payments, and journal entries accurately and timely.
Prioritize approved invoices and check requests according to payment terms. Assist with month-end accruals as needed
Process more complex, exception situations involving vendor invoices, check requests and employee expense reports. Reconcile more complex vendor accounts and resolves vendor issues timely. Recognize potential problem situations and escalates to management as needed. Assist with testing of new function. Transform certain processes/procedures to improve efficiency.
Research inquiries including more complex and sensitive inquiries for management, other departments and vendors.
Provide Accounts Payable related special projects support to management.
Balance Dynamics A/P system reports and be able to reconcile all special and A/P balance sheet accounts. Create and updates vendors according to the approved invoices, check requests, supporting documents and complies with the IRS requirements. Assist with TIN matching, verbal confirmation of ach instructions and recording of journal entries timely and accurately.
Assist with check printing, check log, email remittance and upload to Documentum.
Perform all other miscellaneous responsibilities and duties as assigned or directed.
Minimum requirements:
Proficient with PC and Microsoft Excel and Outlook.
Typing, Data Entry experience required.
Phone Servicing and MS Word experience preferred.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to multi-task and work with minimal supervision.
Ability to learn new tasks quickly and retain information.
Must be self-directed and work well under tight deadlines.
Demonstrate initiative and handle tasks without constant supervision.

Job Type: Full-Time, Temporary Opportunity through 2/28/26, with a possible extension
Pay: $21.50/hr
Location: Keeaumoku Street, Honolulu
Hours: 7:30AM – 4:15PM (Monday-Friday), + occasional Saturdays and overtime as needed
