Job Title: Cloud and Systems Architect
Location: Tallahassee, FL - 3 Days Hybrid

Job Summary:

A highly skilled Cloud and Systems Architect is sought to assist a governmental Office of Information Technology (OIT) in establishing, adopting, and executing cloud services, as well as maintaining existing legacy systems.

General Responsibilities:

1. Promote cultural change for cloud adoption.
2. Assist in ongoing modernization and migration efforts.
3. Expand upon cloud strategy and coordinate adoption.
4. Architect, design, facilitate, lead, coordinate, and direct cloud initiatives across various areas, including:
   • Application development
   • Data management, analytics, and protection
   • External IT hosting
   • Identity and access management
   • Infrastructure
   • Network
   • Security, privacy, and compliance
   • User experience

Education:

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related field.

Required Experience:

• 2 - 3 years of strong professional experience as a Microsoft Azure cloud systems architect.
• 5 - 8 years of professional experience in information systems engineering or a related field.
• 2 - 3 years of experience with Enterprise Architecture.

Highly Desired Experience (Must have 3 of the below):

• 2 - 3 years of experience with other cloud providers, such as AWS or GCP.
• 5 years of professional experience supporting middleware such as API Management, IT Service Automation tools, and batch job services.
• Experience with .Net application development in a DevOps environment.
• 2 - 3 years of professional experience in administration of ESRI GIS software.
• Microsoft Azure certification.

Primary Job Duties/Tasks:

1. Build and manage relationships in a matrixed environment.
2. Recommend and assist with the building and hosting of complex application solutions.
3. Understand, deploy, and manage Microsoft Azure cloud services.
4. Resolve production release issues across business and technology teams, and address broader strategic or systemic issues.
5. Enhance application and system monitoring solutions to ensure appropriate staff receive relevant alerts.
6. Review, advise, and design standard software and hardware builds, system options, risks, costs vs. benefits, and impact on enterprise business processes and goals.
7. Automate processes wherever possible.
8. Create and manage Azure DevOps projects, git repositories, and pipelines.
9. Troubleshoot development issues brought forth by developers and other architects.

Present findings of new technologies, enterprise-wide issues, and enhancements to peers to further the mission.
