Take course route layout from the Event Director, and support the Course Manager in the clear and coherent marking of the required course paths prior to the event weekend, while meeting brand standards, product guidelines, and safety standards
Act as "Course Support" for the event weekend, assisting in the course operations during the event weekend, running the Course Radio Channel (if needed), ensuring proper obstacle & penalty function, assisting elite racer tracking, and implementing line reduction approaches where needed.
Assist in On-Course Volunteer Management, including (but not limited to) volunteer assignment, briefing, deployment, and welfare
Responsible for the cleaning, arrangement, and setup of all on course signage.
Responsible for the setup of all pennant flagging (event dependent)
Responsible for the build of the Spectator Route and ensure proper build of the Spectator Outpost (event dependent)
Maintain water stations on course during the event weekend
Tracks Course via GPS prior to event day to ensure course distances meet product mandates (event dependent)
Assist in the switchover of course paths following the Saturday Event Day (event dependent)
Assist in the landscaping and course clearing of overgrowth and debris to provide a clear and safe course path for participants
Perform Build Crew duties (build and breakdown of obstacles) as needed, based on evaluation by Event Director and event staffing plan
Problem-solve course routing issues and carryout fixes quickly and efficiently
Advise the Course Manager on underutilized natural features or potential for venue-specific obstacle opportunities; lead Build Crew in setting out such obstacles.
Directly respond to / implement requested safety and aesthetic changes as directed by the Event Director or Course Manager at any point during the event build or event weekend.
Exercise safety best-practices and maintain an unwavering attention to detail
Assist in the breakdown and clean up of course following closure of course on Event Day(s)
Assist in the removal of all Trash from Course Path
Requirements
Heavy equipment operating experience preferred, but not needed
Willingness and ability to travel 6-11 days at a time
Ability to read and interpret documents such as course maps, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
Occasionally lifts, pushes, pulls, and moves equipment and material weighing up to 70 pounds
Regularly required to stand, walk, use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls
Must be able to meet deadlines with severe time constraints
Possess a valid driver's license without restrictions; clean driving record
Team player who is willing to pitch in and help where necessary
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and willingness to operate with reasonable flexibility
Creative thinker with excellent technical and organizational skills
Proven ability to work well under pressure
Ability to work independently with sound judgment and initiative
Ability to take on tasks outside of primary responsibilities as needed
Ability to manage and prioritize a variety of tasks simultaneously
