Job Title: Security Analyst - Intermediate
Contract Duration: 12 Months (with possible extension)
Location: 100% Remote (occasional travel for onsite meetings, ~2 weeks per year)
Work Hours: EST Time Zone

About the Role

We are seeking a Security Analyst - Intermediate to support Medicaid security for payment processing systems. This position offers diverse challenges, continuous learning opportunities, and a relaxed yet supportive work environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform vulnerability scanning and coordinate remediation with responsible teams.
• Deploy and manage Endpoint Detection & Response (EDR) solutions.
• Review and evaluate firewall requests.
• Research and assess newly released vulnerabilities.
• ssist with incident response and investigations.
• Support GRC (Governance, Risk, Compliance) assessments.
• Create lerts in SIEM tools based on data from multiple security systems.

Required Skills

• Strong ability to communicate vulnerability information to non-security personnel.
• Working knowledge of web applications.
• Working knowledge of databases (Oracle, MSSQL, MySQL).
• Solid understanding of networking concepts and tools (Nmap, Wireshark, vulnerability scanning).

Preferred Skills

• Hands-on experience with SIEM search and analysis.
• Experience with Palo Alto Firewalls.
• Familiarity with NIST 800-53 standards.

Education & Certification

• Minimum: High School Diploma
• Preferred: Security+ certification
