A Brief Overview

As an Auto Glass Technician Apprentice, you will undergo comprehensive training to become a skilled technician. Upon completing our training program, you'll earn the Safelite SafeTech certification and gain essential skills for independent glass repairs, replacements, and recalibrations. What You Will Do

  • Engage in paid training that combines hands-on experience with classroom learning.
  • Assist in installing and repairing auto glass while shadowing experienced technicians.
  • Learn to recalibrate automotive safety systems through troubleshooting and diagnostic testing.
  • Provide additional services and products to enhance customer safety.
  • Study and pass tests to achieve Safelite Technician certification, demonstrating proficiency in installations and a positive attitude.
  • Safely operate both company and customer vehicles, as well as the tools and chemicals required for the job.
  • Perform other duties as assigned and adhere to all company policies and standards.

What You'll Get:

  • Competitive starting pay at $22.25/hour, increasing to $26.50/hour upon completion of training and certification.

Education Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED/Equivalent preferred.
  • Valid state-issued driver's license, along with any other necessary licenses required by federal, state, and local laws.

Experience Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.

Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to regularly lift and carry up to 35 pounds, occasionally up to 50 pounds.
  • Capable of standing for long periods and working in tight spaces, with flexibility in body movement.
  • Experience using a variety of hand and power tools safely and efficiently.
  • Ability to operate vehicles in line with all legal regulations and agree to monitoring via safety technology.
  • Demonstrate professionalism and a genuine passion for delivering outstanding customer service.
  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and temperatures for extended periods.
  • Comfortable working with chemicals, including flammable substances, as per Safelite training guidelines.
  • Flexibility to work scheduled hours, adjusting start and end times as necessary to meet customer requirements.
  • Proficiency in using computerized diagnostic tools for recalibrations and troubleshooting.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and capacity to collaborate effectively with others.
  • Ability to read, write, and interpret the English language and technical instructions.
  • Bring a professional appearance in line with company dress code and PPE policies.
  • Ability to maintain performance levels even under pressure from productivity standards.
