Electrician-Electronic Equipment Repairer

The Department of Facility Maintenance (DFM), Public Building and Electrical Maintenance Division, is seeking an Electrician-Electronic Equipment Repairer in Honolulu. What you'll do includes participating in the installation, maintenance, and repair of a wide variety of electrical systems, wiring systems, equipment, and appurtenances for all facilities under the jurisdiction of the Department of Facility Maintenance. Work Monday to Friday from 6:50 a.m. to 3:20 p.m. Be assigned to service locations that will be subject to applicable state and federal laws in order to access the facilities. Supervise the work of apprentice(s) and other assigned personnel. Ensure subordinates and self adhere to applicable safety practices, rules, and procedures, and perform all duties in a safe and acceptable manner to ensure the safety of self, co-workers, and the general public. Perform other related duties as required.

Special work requirements include being called out to work while on off-duty status to respond to electrical emergencies, providing a valid after-hours contact number, having basic computer skills, being able to work at various heights, and being exposed to some working conditions that require the use of a respirator. This position will be assigned to service the Joint Traffic Management Center (JTMC) and the USN Whitmore Naval Station and is subject to applicable state and federal laws in order to access the facilities. JTMC requires a fingerprint-based criminal history record check as part of the pre-employment suitability in accordance with HRS 846-2.7 (b)(37). USN Whitmore Naval Station requires a federal background check as mandated by the U.S. Navy.
