Our Client is the largest privately owned shipyard in Hawaii, with two of the largest dry docks in the state. Our client has been in business since 1944 and have a large labor force of skilled craftsman with a full support staff of professionals who comprise of engineering, project management, QA, EHS, accounting, contracts, and human resources.

Job Summary

The Estimator is responsible for developing cost estimates to support our ongoing ship repair contracts with DoD and commercial customers. The Estimator works closely with all departments to identify the amount of material and manpower needed to perform ship repair availabilities. The ideal candidate will thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment

  • Prepare comprehensive cost estimates and technical proposals.
  • Ability to read detailed drawings, specifications, and technical manuals.
  • Engage in a collaborative estimating process and bid reviews.
  • Attend ship checks.
  • Participate in business development.
  • Strong team player with on-site work hours required.
Skills Required
  • Minimum 3-5 years of professional experience, preferably in marine or industrial industry.
  • Shipyard experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of Navy ships is beneficial.
  • Former Navy military personnel highly beneficial.
Education/Training/Certifications
  • High school diploma required; Bachelor of Science highly recommended.
Additional Requirements
  • Must show proof of your legal right to work in the United States.
  • This position requires US Citizenship.
  • Must be able to obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) and a Defense Biometric Identification System (DBIDS) Credential.
  • All candidates must pass a post-offer drug screening and background check.
  • Valid State of Hawaii drivers' license in good standing.
  • Candidates must have access to reliable transportation
