The primary purpose of this position is to independently perform difficult and complex geologic studies, reviews, and investigations at hazardous waste, solid waste, and leaking underground storage tank sites and evaluate the environmental and health issues of those releases. In addition, this position is responsible for providing technical assistance on geological and hydrological issues as they pertain to corrective actions at various types of sites. This position is also responsible for providing technical support for the U.S. Navy Red Hill Bulk Fuel Storage Tanks Special Project.
To qualify, applicants must meet all of the following requirements: Legal Authorization to Work: The State of Hawaii requires all persons seeking employment with the government of the State shall be citizens, nationals, or permanent resident aliens of the United States, or eligible under federal law for unrestricted employment in the United States. Education: Graduation from an accredited four year college or university with a bachelor's degree and major in geology, hydrology or a related field of geoscience. Specialized Experience: Three (3) years of progressively responsible professional geological or hydrological work experience.
