The Substance Abuse Specialist serves as a member of a multi-disciplinary team, collaborating on assessment, development, and implementation of individualized treatment plans aimed at helping users overcome alcohol and/or substance use. These positions represent the senior-level substance abuse specialist, responsible for providing the most intensive and continuous professional substance abuse counseling, education, and rehabilitative services for the most complex cases.
To qualify, applicants must meet all of the following requirements: legal authorization to work in the United States, knowledge of pharmacological properties and effects of psychoactive substances, a bachelor's degree, and two and one-half years of progressively responsible professional work experience in substance abuse treatment. Some positions may require a valid driver's license.
