Summary

Join our team as a Senior Marine Machinery Mechanic Leader, where you will play a pivotal role in the Production Resources Department at Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard & IMF within the Department of the Navy.

Duties

• Serve as a subject matter expert in the installation, alignment, repairs, and testing of various shipboard machinery, including engines and deck machinery.
• Lead, train, and mentor shop personnel in disassembly, inspection, repair, and alignment of main propulsion components like steam turbines and reduction gears.
• Complete and review inspection reports and technical work documents, addressing discrepancies as necessary.
• Monitor diagnosis of malfunctions on ships and submarines, ensuring maintenance complies with standards and specifications.
• Inspect completed work to guarantee quality and adherence to requirements.

Requirements

• Must be a US Citizen.
• Must undergo a pre-employment physical examination and security clearance process.
• Work involves exposure to potentially harmful agents, necessitating participation in medical surveillance.
• Travel may be required, including overseas and remote sites.
• The role may demand physical lifting, climbing, and the ability to distinguish colors.
• Willingness to work uncommon hours, including nights and weekends, may be necessary.
