The Department of Environmental Services (ENV) and the Environmental Quality Division are recruiting for a Civil Engineer II to be located at Kapolei Hale. This person will perform introductory professional engineering work related to the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) permits, Underground Injection Control (UIC) permits, Underground Storage Tank (UST) permits, water quality monitoring, air permits, and other functions of the Monitoring & Compliance Branch.

Minimum Qualification Requirements:
At time of application, you must be a citizen, national or permanent resident alien of the United States or a non-citizen eligible under federal law for unrestricted employment. EDUCATION REQUIREMENT: Equivalent to graduation from a regionally-accredited four-year college or university with a bachelor's degree in an engineering specialty. The education requirement must be met at the time of application. EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT: One (1) year of non-registered professional civil engineering experience. Such experience shall demonstrate knowledge of the principles and practices of general civil engineering, engineering mathematics, engineering mechanics and the mechanics of materials, the principles and practices of topographic surveying, and structural, mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and sanitary engineering principles and practices to the extent these apply to the general field of civil engineering. Such experience must also demonstrate the ability to do engineering drafting and simple design work, interpret plans, specifications and land descriptions, plot survey notes, and prepare maps, plans, profiles and cross-sections. A Master's degree in Civil Engineering from a regionally-accredited college or university will substitute for the one year of non-registered professional civil engineering experience. The substitution must be met at the time of application. LICENSE REQUIREMENT: Possession of an appropriate valid driver's license (Type 3), as required.
