Warehouse Associate - Honolulu, HW

The Salvation Army Southern California is hiring a Warehouse Associate at our Honolulu Distribution Center. This is an excellent opportunity to start or advance your career while serving the community.

Pay Rate: $14 per hour

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Sort product efficiently and according to TSA policy.
• Provide Quality Assurance by inspecting products for defects and damages.
• Identify products correctly and direct them to the proper department for processing.
• Collect merchandise from the distribution center and safely transport materials.
• Follow safety measures established by TSA policy and government regulations.
• Maintain confidentiality as required for the operation of the program.
• Overtime requires written approval of the supervisor; the supervisors initials must appear on the timecard.
• Other written or verbal duties as assigned by the Production Manager, the Administrator, or their representative.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Ability to lead and mentor teams of warehouse associates and beneficiaries.
• Strong communication, leadership, accountability, and follow-through skills.
• Ability to differentiate quality of donated items.
• Adaptability to supervising and working in various production units.
• Proven track record hitting production goals.
• Previous experience working with diverse and vulnerable populations.
• Per California State Public Health Order dated August 5, 2021, the person hired will be required to receive a single-dose COVID vaccine by September 30, 2021, or the second dose of a 2-dose COVID vaccine by September 30th, unless an approved medical or religious exemption exists.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist on an intermittent or continuous basis.
• Ability to grasp, push, pull various objects such as file cabinets, clothing carts, merchandise carts, rolling clothing racks, fixtures, furniture dollies, platform trucks and hand trucks.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to perform various repetitive motion tasks.
