Duties and responsibilities
- Serve as the curriculum management system administrator to ensure the course approval system is functioning properly, update curriculum, database workflows, user directory, and notification lists.
- Coordinate and review all course changes with the campus curriculum committee to identify and clarify discrepancies.
- Ensure elements of new course proposals and modifications to existing proposals are formatted properly and appropriate to improve clarity in proposals, and to facilitate transfer of proposal from campus to the system-wide curriculum management database.
- Provide training on the institution's curricular process.
- Maintain records of curriculum course modifications and ensure accurate and timely updates to course related data in the Banner Student Information System (SIS).
- Track curricular change for updates to campus course catalog. Proofread, edit and resolve reported discrepancies.
- Serve as technical support for course schedulers in the college's student information system.
- Responsible for setting up the Banner SIS to begin course scheduling and registration activity for each term. Collaborate with the registrar and fiscal authority to disseminate scheduling timelines to the campus.
- Monitor input of classes by divisions and review information for accuracy. Advise and follow up with appropriate unit for corrections.
- Serve as the academic programs liaison and point of contact for the Banner SIS. Provide functional support to campus Banner SIS users and communicate with the UH system Banner office for assistance as necessary.
- Represent the campus at system-wide meetings, such as the UH system schedulers' group, curriculum management user-group, and curriculum management development group. Participate in Banner/curriculum management interface development meetings.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Possession of a baccalaureate degree in education, educational technology, business administration, public administration, communication, computer science, or a related field and three (3) years of progressively responsible professional experience with responsibilities for managing student information and/or curriculum databases; or equivalent education/training or experience.
Knowledge, skills, and abilities
- Considerable working knowledge of principles, practices and techniques in the area of student information systems and/or curricular databases as demonstrated by broad knowledge of the full range of pertinent standards and evolving concepts, principles, and methodologies.
- Considerable working knowledge and understanding of applicable federal and state laws, rules, regulations and theories and systems associated with student enrollment and or information management.
- Demonstrated ability to resolve a wide range of complex problems using reason and creativity to accurately determine the cause of the problems and work to resolve the problems in an effective, innovative, and timely manner.
- Demonstrated ability to interpret and present information and ideas clearly and accurately in writing, verbally and by preparing reports and other materials.
- Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external organizations, groups, team leaders and members, and individuals.
- For supervisory work, demonstrated ability to lead subordinates, manage work priorities and projects, and manage employee relations.

Desirable qualifications
- Knowledge and/or experience working with Banner, STAR, and/or curricular databases.
- Knowledge and/or experience with responsibilities for course scheduling.
- Knowledge and/or experience working with scheduling and space management tools (e.g., 25Live, Skedda, CourseDog, and Ad Astra).
- Experience generating and analyzing reports from institutional databases or student information systems to support curriculum and scheduling functions.
