What You'll Do

This hands-on role entails collaborating closely with the Wellness Director to facilitate engaging activities for our residents. Your primary focus will be ensuring the utmost well-being, comfort, safety, and security of both residents and staff alike.

Location - Hale Ola Kino at Arcadia (HOKA)

The following shifts are available:
  • Casual Hire (Work less than 20 hours per week) Mondays & Tuesdays, 8:30 am - 5:30 pm

Pay Range
  • $18.90 to $23.96 Hourly

Responsibilities
  • Implements and leads scheduled single and group therapeutic recreational activities.
  • Maintains a daily record of the resident's participation in activities.
  • Submits and gathers forms and documents related to activities and wellness objectives.
  • Promotes a cheerful, non-threatening, safe, and appropriate environment.
  • Monitors residents' status and informs Charge Nurse of any changes or concerns.
  • Addresses resident's needs as they arise.
  • Prepares activity areas and cleans up areas upon completion of activity.
  • Maintains activities' equipment and items to ensure safe and satisfactory condition.
  • Notifies Charge Nurse, Department Head, and other supervisors of compromised equipment and items.
  • Works with Department Head in developing and revising resident care plans.
  • Answers phone calls and relays messages, as needed.
  • Participates in various committees of the community, as appointed by Wellness Director.
  • Encourages resident independence, attendance at activities, restorative programs, and rehabilitation.
  • Maintains the self-respect, personal dignity, physical safety, and assures safety of each resident.
  • Attends in-service training, floor orientation, staff meetings and education sessions, as required.

Education/Experience

One year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Computer Skills

Proficiency in using a computer including Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word) and other applicable software applications.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, sit, and taste or smell. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; push and pull. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment

While performing their essential functions, employees are occasionally exposed to the following conditions:
