The Director of Finance is a strategic financial leader with experience working on complex financial structures relating to hospitality or mixed‑use properties, a strong background in hospitality, and exceptional analytical and leadership skills.

Position Overview

A leading luxury hotel and spa in Honolulu seeks an experienced financial leader to oversee all aspects of financial operations. This role is pivotal in ensuring profitability, compliance, and accurate reporting for a high‑end property that includes both hotel and residential components. The position requires a hands‑on approach to managing complex financial structures, guiding strategic decisions, and building a strong accounting team.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as internal controls.
• Manage cash flow, accounts payable/receivable, and bank reconciliations.
• Advise senior leadership on financial impacts of business decisions.
• Lead and develop the accounting team; hire, train, and mentor staff.
• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Implement process improvements and maintain IT systems for financial operations.

Requirements

• Hands‑on experience with complex financial structures, ideally in hospitality or mixed‑use properties.
• Proven track record of managing financial operations and leading teams.
• Strong understanding of tax compliance and regulatory requirements.
