Duties and Responsibilities
1. *Completes, reviews, maintains, reconciles and audits fiscal transaction reports, forms, requests, fiscal journals and records in accordance with federal, state and University requirements.
2. *Maintains and analyzes fiscal transaction information, chart of accounts, records and financial reports, fiscal data relating to materials, labor, overhead costs, object codes and control ledgers, registers, and other related fiscal records.
3. *Evaluates and makes recommendations on internal accounting controls, procedures and adherence to generally accepted accounting principles and management practices; administers, directs and coordinates a financial and compliance audit program.
4. *Maintains budget (operating and/or capital improvements) account information in accordance with established instructions and guidelines and operating instructions.
5. *Accounts for funds generated from all sources (sales, fees, etc.), oversees the collection, reconciliation, recording, safeguard, and deposit as directed by pertinent policies and procedures.
6. *Serves as the administrative officer for an organizational unit and provides the full range of administrative support that involves several related processes that have resource constraints requiring resolution of administrative problems.
7. Provides technical advice, interpretations and/or makes effective recommendations regarding applicable policies, procedures and other administrative requirements to administrators and staff.
8. *Prepares year end adjusting and closing entries, trial balances and works closely with the auditors.
9. *Plans and supervises staff of professional, technical and clerical personnel in the performance of accounting, procurement, human resources administration, property management, order fulfillment and warehousing activities.
10. Prepares written policies, reports, analyses, administrative procedures, instructions, guidelines, interpretations, financial statements, cost and valuation reports and statements of condition.
11. *Partners with the press director on financial, operational, and strategic issues; conducts financial, statistical, and operational analyses and provides advice.
12. *Maintains and reports monthly financial reports on the fiscal performance of the press against the budget.
13. *Manages the press' warehousing and fulfillment operations; renewing contracts, negotiating new agreements, communicating with warehouse management, managing stock levels and inventory, and reporting on the status of operations to press management.
14. *Serves as the Merchant Account Contact for the press' credit card program and the main point of contact for the administration and maintenance of PCI Compliance.
15. Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications
1. Possession of a baccalaureate degree in business management, accounting, finance or related field and 6 year(s) of progressively responsible professional experience with responsibilities for fiscal and administration at the college level or higher; or any equivalent combination of education and/or professional work experience which provides the required education, knowledge, skills and abilities as indicated.
2. Considerable working knowledge of principles, practices and techniques in the field of business and administrative management as demonstrated by the broad knowledge and understanding of the full range of pertinent standard and evolving concepts, principles and methodologies.
3. Considerable working knowledge and understanding of applicable federal and state laws, rules, regulations and theories and systems associated with business and administrative management.
4. Demonstrated ability to resolve wide ranging complex problems through the use of creative reasoning and logic to accurately determine the cause of the problems and the resolution of the problems in an effective, innovative and timely manner.
5. Demonstrated ability to interpret and present information and ideas clearly and accurately in writing, verbally and by preparation of reports and other materials.
6. Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external organizations, groups, team leaders and members, and individuals.
7. Demonstrated ability to operate a personal computer and apply word processing software.
8. For supervisory work, demonstrated ability to lead subordinates, manage work priorities and projects, and manage employee relations.
9. Extensive management work experience in fiscal, budget, and organization management.
10. Extensive knowledge of the principles and practices of financial accounting, budget preparation & execution, organizational management; applicable state and federal laws and regulations; principles and practices of supervision.
11. Ability to plan, organize, direct & coordinate various administrative staff activities; analyze agency needs and provide services to fulfill those needs; make sound administrative policy decisions.
Desirable Qualifications
1. Experience in publishing industry.
2. Knowledge of UH policies, procedures and systems.
3. Knowledge of PCI Compliance.
4. Experience managing warehousing, fulfillment, and inventory-based operations.
5. Experience in Human Resource Management
