NSC Staffing is seeking a skilled Crane Operator to join our Hawaii team. This position offers a great opportunity for individuals with the necessary certifications and experience operating heavy-duty cranes, including the Linkbelt 160-ton crane, large telescopic booms, and lattice booms. Position Overview:
As a Crane Operator, you will be responsible for operating a Linkbelt 160-ton crane and other heavy equipment to move and lift materials safely at construction sites. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with large telescopic booms, lattice booms, and the ability to transport and operate cranes on job sites safely. This role requires proficiency in crane operations, maintenance, and adherence to safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate the Linkbelt 160-ton crane, large telescopic boom, and lattice boom to lift and position loads as required on job sites.
  • Safely maneuver cranes to lift materials, ensuring all loads are securely fastened before moving.
  • Ensure crane operations follow safety protocols and comply with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Inspect and maintain cranes before and after each shift, reporting any issues or needed repairs to management.
  • Plan and execute lifting procedures based on load charts and operational guidelines.
  • Adhere to all safety measures during crane setup, operation, and disassembly.
  • Effectively communicate with ground crew, supervisors, and other workers to ensure safe and efficient operations.
  • Drive cranes to and from job sites while ensuring compliance with traffic laws.
  • Provide assistance with other construction tasks when not operating the crane.
Qualifications & Experience:
  • NCCCO Certification (National Commission for the Certification of Crane Operators) is required.
  • Extensive experience operating Linkbelt 160-ton cranes, large telescopic booms, and lattice booms.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; ability to drive cranes to and from job sites.
  • Strong understanding of crane safety protocols and lifting techniques.
  • Ability to read and interpret crane load charts and operational manuals.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented environment and follow instructions.
  • Physically able to handle the job's demands, including climbing, lifting, and working in various weather conditions.
  • Experience with crane inspections, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
  • Preferred: Additional certifications or training in crane operations or heavy machinery.
  • Preferred: Experience working in construction, marine, or industrial settings.
Work Environment:
You will be working in a construction or industrial setting, which may involve working outdoors in varying weather conditions. PPE is mandatory, and safety is a top priority.

Physical Demands:
  • Must be able to lift, push, and pull up to 75 lbs. occasionally (up to 33% of the day).
  • Lift, push, and pull up to 20-30 lbs. frequently (34-66% of the day).
  • Perform prolonged standing (2-3 hours), bending, squatting, crawling, and kneeling.
  • Climb safely on stairs, scaffolding, ladders, and ramps.
  • Work in confined spaces for extended periods (33-66% of the day).
  • Ability to work at heights above 12 feet on scaffolding or man lifts.
  • Good handgrip and coordination to carry and operate tools and equipment.
