We are seeking a Hydraulics Engineer with a strong understanding of FEMA regulations and flood ordinances in Hawaii. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and implementing hydraulic systems and ensuring compliance with all relevant environmental and safety standards.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Design and analyze hydraulic systems for flood control and water management projects.
• Ensure all projects comply with FEMA guidelines and local flood ordinances.
• Conduct hydrologic and hydraulic modeling and analyses.
• Prepare and review floodplain delineation studies.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop integrated water resource management solutions.
• Provide technical expertise on issues related to hydraulics and water resources engineering.

EDUCATION/TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field; Master's preferred.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license in Hawaii or ability to obtain.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in hydrology, hydraulics, stormwater management, and design.
• Extensive knowledge of FEMA regulations and flood ordinances specific to Hawaii.
• Proficiency with hydraulic modeling software such as HEC-RAS and HEC-HMS.
• Experience with floodplain and floodway delineations.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

LOCATION: Honolulu, HI

SALARY RANGE: $90,000 - $140,000 per year depending on experience
