The Department of the Medical Examiner is seeking an experienced death or forensic investigators to fill a couple of Medicolegal Investigator IV positions in Honolulu. These positions serve as a working supervisor for a team of investigative staff and related activities for an assigned shift on selected weekdays and/or weekend days, assuming responsibility for the full range of medicolegal investigative work in connection with any death that falls under the jurisdiction of the Department of the Medical Examiner.

At time of application, you must be a citizen, national or permanent resident alien of the United States or a non-citizen eligible under federal law for unrestricted employment.
Education Requirement: Equivalent to graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a bachelor's degree in forensic science, biological science, nursing, allied health, criminal justice, or a directly related field. Education obtained outside of the United States must be comparable to a degree earned at a regionally-accredited college/university in the United States. In order to receive credit for the education, a foreign credential evaluation (FCE) must be provided. We also reserve the right to request further information about your academic program, evidence of comparability, or an original transcript.
Verification Requirement: You must submit evidence of your qualifying Bachelor's degree in one of the listed areas of study in order to be given credit. Experience Requirement: Three years of progressively responsible professional experience in conducting medicolegal investigations, one of which shall have been representative of the next lower level.
License Requirement: 1. Possession of an appropriate valid driver's license (Type 3/automobile), prior to appointment. 2. Certification by the American Board of Medicolegal Death Investigators (ABMDI) as a Registered Diplomate, at the time of application.
