Job Opportunity: Material Handling Laborer

Hana Enterprises, Inc. is a professional services company serving clients in the federal government and military sectors. Join our dynamic team as we recruit for a Material Handling Laborer to join our team! The position pays $20.83 per hour and includes $5.55 health and welfare benefits.

Essential duties and responsibilities include:

  • Loading, unloading, and delivery of furnishings and appliances to customers
  • Receiving furnishings into an organization and verifying furnishings against service orders to ensure the accuracy of the delivery
  • Responsible for the inventory shipments and notating any discrepancies
  • Routing furnishings to storage location
  • Assisting Appliance Technician in repairs and delivery
  • Workers may use material moving equipment such as pallet jacks, forklifts, and dollies to bring furnishings to an appropriate location
  • Assisting in weekly forklift maintenance
  • Cleaning and repairing furnishings
  • Unloading furniture/appliances from shipping containers
  • Ability to lift 75 pounds
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Required to perform inventory of property
  • Requirements:

    • High school diploma or equivalent required
    • 2 years specialized experience in DoD preferred
    • Must have a valid driver's license
    • Knowledge of standard warehouse loading and storage techniques required
    • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted is required
    • Ability to pass DoD background investigation required
    • Knowledge, skills, and abilities:

      • Beginner to intermediate computer skills; ability to learn additional computer skills or software programs
      • Ability to enter data accurately into databases
      • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
      • Interpersonal skills are necessary to work effectively and cooperatively with all levels of management and staff. Will also routinely interact with customers and other crew members
      • Ability to use general office equipment such as fax, phone, copier, scanner, printers, etc.
      • Ability to follow a process
      • Strong professional customer service skills, including active listening, prompt service and follow-up
      • Strong decision analysis and problem solving skills; ability to draw conclusions and justify decisions. Must be able to communicate issues to management
      • Ability to perform basic mathematical computations
      • High degree of self-motivation and the ability to work independently
      • Ability to multi-task
