Overview

This role supports Energy Delivery project and program managers with accurate and timely analysis of major project and program performance and progress consistent with approved budgets and milestones. The analyst monitors compliance with all federal/state/local government requirements and serves as a key resource for initiating, planning, executing, controlling, and closing Energy Delivery major projects and programs. The analyst assists in establishing milestones for major projects and programs for achievement of team goals.

Responsibilities

  • Support project/program initiating and planning: configure and manage project/program information systems, develop plans, schedule, budget, risk analysis, and communication matrix.
  • Assist in obtaining company authorizations, PUC approval, rate case approval, and coordination with regulatory, corporate, and utility functions.
  • Develop and prepare project-related information and presentations for community groups, media, government agencies, the city council, the state legislature, and the Public Utilities Commission to address concerns and resolve related project problems.
  • Control project cost and progress information, generate reports, and monitor UI Planner and SAP updates to ensure timely and accurate project reports and analysis.
  • Ensure project cost posting, status tracking, and compliance with all internal and external reporting requirements.
  • Assist in project and program closing: contract acceptance/signoffs, drawings and records updates, procurement audits and reconciliation, performance and lessons‑learned review, and accounting closeout of project and associated work orders.
  • Participate in company emergency response activities as assigned.

Qualifications

Knowledge Requirements

  • Proficient with Excel, MS Word, SAP, MS Project, UI Planner, PowerPoint, and MS Access.
  • Understanding of GAAP and matrix project management systems.
  • Ability to learn project management principles, earned value analysis, and utility information systems.
  • Knowledge of permitting processes, land use, electric transmission, distribution, and utility regulation.
  • Best practices for a safe workplace environment.

Experience Requirements

  • 3‑5 years experience in accounting and forecasting systems and capital project budgets.
  • 3‑5 years experience with MS Project, Excel, and information systems.
  • 3‑5 years analytical experience with data and projects.
  • 2‑3 years experience using project management techniques.

Must have or be able to qualify for a State of Hawaii driver's license and meet frequent or required driving standards as required.

Hiring Range

The hiring range for the Project Analyst [Req ID 10052] position is $78,000.00 to $99,600.00.
