Airport Law Enforcement Officer – Armed Relief Patrol in Honolulu, HI, serves on the front line of aviation security, ensuring public safety, safeguarding airport facilities, and upholding the spirit of aloha through professional service. The position requires you to be armed, operate a vehicle, and provide exceptional customer service and communication reflecting teamwork, integrity, and a people‑first approach.

$28.86 / Hour with an hourly bonus of $3.58. Premium paid shall be based on the position actually worked by the employee.

- Sat 05:00 AM – 01:30 PM
- Sun 07:30 AM – 04:00 PM
Legal Enforcement Officer Minimum Qualifications
- 2+ years of professional law enforcement experience in the U.S. after graduating from a certified law enforcement academy (Federal, State, or County level)
Pre-Employment Requirements
- Graduate of Law Enforcement or Military Police Training Program or Equivalent (must provide credentials upon applying)
- Valid Driver's License
- Law Enforcement Officer License
- 22+ years of age
Formal Education, Licenses, and Certifications Required
- Certified State law enforcement recruit training
- Certified County law enforcement recruit training
- Federal law enforcement training
- Programs approved by the Director
Basic Qualifications
- No felony convictions or convictions for abuse of a household member under Lautenberg Amendment to the Gun Control Act of 1968 or documented truthfulness infractions in violation of Giglio/Henthorn for federal impeachment proceedings
Knowledge and Skills Required
- Must be able to supervise Contractor's personnel and work effectively with airport management, tenants, other law enforcement agencies and the public on matters relating to security disputes, complaints on performance, conduct or behavior of subordinate employees.

- No record of moral turpitude, domestic violence, untruthfulness, or mental or emotional disorders that may interfere with performance of duties.

- Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security‑related procedures, site‑specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.

- May be required to provide a court appearance for citations issued on behalf of DOTA.
Physical Requirements and Environment
- Mentally and emotionally capable of performing all duties required for their assigned Post/duties.
- Good physical health and fully capable of normal or emergency duties requiring moderate to arduous physical exertion such as standing, walking, patrolling for an entire shift(s), climbing stairs, running and self‑defense.
- Lifting and carrying objects weighing up to 25 lbs. for a designated distance.
- Assisting in the safe evacuation of individuals, including carrying a small child or providing support to persons with limited mobility.
- Random drug screen.
- Exercise physical force if required in the execution of official duties.
- Pass a security background check conducted by the DOTA pass and ID office.
- Well‑groomed and neat appearance.
- Pass a one‑time physical examination within the past 6 months.
- Pass a 12‑panel drug test and all future random drug testing.
- Vision 20/30 each eye with normal color vision.
- Able to hear at a normal conversational level.
