Overview

Aloha! One of Hawaii's largest and oldest banks is seeking an IT Auditor to join their team. The role encompasses audit coverage and risk mitigation effectiveness, with a focus on identifying, assessing, and helping reduce IT-related risks across systems and vendors. Performance will be tracked through indicators such as control deficiency rates, remediation timelines, and alignment with regulatory compliance standards.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, direct, organize and execute audits of Information Technology (IT) and Information Security (IS) functions of the organization under the Manager's direction.
  • Assess business unit compliance with applicable laws, regulations, regulatory requirements, and Bank policies and procedures, including Fair Banking, Anti-Money Laundering laws and regulations, Bank Secrecy Act and USA PATRIOT Act, when applicable.
  • Perform audit field work in accordance with approved audit programs, IIA standards, and department policies; prepare work papers documenting procedures, information obtained, and conclusions;
  • Identify major internal control weaknesses and provide value-added recommendations to improve efficiency and effectiveness of procedures;
  • Document and communicate audit findings to auditees, and conduct closing conferences as required;
  • Develop risk and control matrices, prepare narratives, and document significant auditable areas, planning results, schedules, budgets, and regulatory research;
  • Meet with auditees to discuss scope, objectives, and timing; resolve open items in a timely manner; prepare audit reports in accordance with department standards;
  • Support post-fieldwork activities and supervise/assess other staff as assigned;
  • Adhere to all applicable laws, regulations, and Bank policies and procedures.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, business, information systems, computer science, or related field; or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of internal or external auditing experience or equivalent.
  • Certifications preferred: CISA, CISSP, CIA, or other relevant designations.
  • Technical Skills: proficiency with personal computers in a networked environment and Microsoft Office; knowledge of or ability to use Bank systems and audit software.
  • Knowledge of internal control concepts; strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and written/oral communication skills.
  • Able to meet deadlines, work in a team, manage projects, and develop innovative process improvements.
  • Flexible work hours including holidays, weekends, and evenings as necessary.

Work Environment

Hybrid work arrangement: 3 days on-site / 2 days remote. Open to candidates residing in California as well; must work HST.

Pay, Benefits & Workplace
