Virtualization Engineer
Our team is searching for a Virtualization Engineer to manage and sustain a VMware infrastructure supporting multiple security enclaves (JWICS, CTX, and SIPR) and their VDI workloads. This role will perform activities including optimizing resources, segmenting enclaves, provisioning virtual machines, and providing backend support for a complex virtual ecosystem that relies on external inputs.
Key Responsibilities
- Sustain VMware vSphere, vCenter, and Horizon environments
- Support VM pools and enclave separation aligned with console-driven distribution
- Monitor virtual host performance, conduct preventive maintenance, and allocate compute/storage resources
- Coordinate with Systems Engineers and external partners to maintain availability of CTX and TS/SCI service feeds
- Apply virtual infrastructure patches, updates, and hardening in line with STIG guidance
- Maintain enclave-specific VM templates and enforce virtual security policies
- Document virtual infrastructure, change logs, and support sustainment audits
- Assist in Disaster Recovery testing and COOP scenarios across all supported enclaves
- Support and communicate with military and federal civilian end users
Required Minimum Qualifications
- Meticulous attention to detail, ability to multi-task, and strong aptitude for critical thinking
- Experience overseeing VMware infrastructures and VDI workloads
Education, Certifications, and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field
- 3+ years of experience in systems engineering, specifically in DoD/DoN environments
- Active CompTIA Security+ certification
- Active VMware Foundation certification(s), highly preferred
- Active, relevant Operating System (OS) certification(s), highly preferred
Travel Requirements
Minimal travel up to 10% may be required.
U.S. Citizenship Requirements
Due to our contracts with the U.S. federal government and the requirement for a security clearance to perform this role, candidates for this position must be U.S. Citizens.
Clearance Type Required
Candidates must be able to maintain a Top Secret/SCI security clearance.
