IDIQ Project Engineer – Honolulu, HI

The IDIQ Project Engineer provides technical and administrative information to others working on a project to ensure compliance with engineering standards, codes, specifications, design, and contract; troubleshoots engineering-related installation problems. This individual will work closely with other managers and supervisors to solve problems with minimal guidance. Responsibilities include reviewing project schedules, coordinating shop drawings and specifications, and serving as the engineering reference for work plans and scheduling. The role coordinates with multi-disciplinary crews and engineering leads to plan field layout and future planning.

Responsibilities

  • Support project documentation, including RFIs, submittals, and government correspondence.
  • Manage and track ticketing systems and service requests to ensure timely resolution.
  • Provide logistical and administrative support for Point of Laydown (POL) and field operations for assigned projects.
  • Assist in project scheduling and timeline management using tools like Microsoft Project or Excel.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors and vendors to track progress, ensure compliance, and resolve issues.
  • Lead point of contact for ground execution of projects for subcontractors and technicians. Develop technical solutions compliant with contracts.
  • Prepare reports and dashboards using Microsoft Office and SharePoint for internal and client use.
  • Support the use and management of CMMS or other maintenance management systems.
  • Ensure documentation accuracy for purchasing, invoicing, and financial tracking in coordination with the Service Order Manager.
  • Assist in transitioning new projects including setup, contract deliverables, and client onboarding.
  • Support proposal development, technical writing, and generation of project execution plans.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and contract requirements in coordination with PM and field staff.
  • Maintain clear and consistent communication with project managers, clients, and internal teams.
  • Ensure the development, planning, and execution of all awarded IDIQ work, as well as future task orders and opportunities under the contract.
  • Perform material takeoffs from design drawings, standards, specifications, and other documents.
  • Source and select permanent-plant material for purchase.
  • Order, track, expedite, and manage the supply chain from sourcing to receiving.
  • Manage the vendor submittal process including packaging project specifications into a request for submittal, reviewing and accepting/rejecting submittals, and managing the process from sourcing to acceptance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (preferably ABET accredited) with 0+ years of experience.
  • Experience coordinating multiple site locations and cross-disciplinary projects.
  • Proficient in managing large data sets and developing for technical and PMO use.
  • Knowledgeable with CMMS or maintenance management software.
  • Experience with project scheduling tools (e.g., Microsoft Project, Primavera).
  • Experience with ticket management and logistical support for field engineer operations.

USD $79,520.00 - USD $115,000.00 /Yr.
