The Punahou Tennis School serves students of all skill levels in grades K-12 and is committed to providing a safe and nurturing learning environment conducive to learning the game of tennis while maximizing the potential for all students through various development programs. Students K-12 are exposed to tennis through curricular PE classes offered during the regular school day, after-school, and summer course offerings, Jr. Team Tennis (JTT) league play, and interscholastic Intermediate/JV/Varsity team opportunities (grades 7-12).
The Tennis Faculty will serve as an integral member of the Punahou Tennis School and will assist in all aspects of Punahou's tennis programs, services, and operations. The ideal candidate will actively plan, coordinate, administer, and perform tennis programming and services inclusive of teaching private and group lessons, coaching our Jr. Team Tennis teams and coordinating our Jr. Team Tennis schedule, teaching PE classes, and supervising during FOPT hours. Tennis Faculty will also assist with the coordination of special events, programs, and tournaments as needed. The ideal candidate will create a positive and supportive learning environment, and will be flexible and open-minded with respect to learning styles. They will contribute to a learning culture among colleagues that models collaboration, continuous learning, reflective practice, peer support, and the ability to adopt an educational approach to teaching tennis in alignment with the Aims of a Punahou Education. The Tennis Faculty position will also play a key role in creating an environment that promotes the game of tennis as an educational tool and lifelong sport for all ages.
