Leidos is searching for licensed behavioral health professionals to join our Military and Family Life Counselor (MFLC) Child and Youth Behavioral team. This is a 9-month school calendar position aligned with the school schedule you will support.

The Child and Youth Behavioral Military and Family Life Counselor (CYB-MFLC) role is a unique opportunity to provide essential non-medical support through counseling, consultation, and outreach to eligible faculty, staff, parents, children, and youth. Our non-medical counseling approach is preventative, focusing on addressing issues proactively, before they escalate into greater challenges.

Military children experience distinct emotional and environmental hurdles due to the stress of military life. This role allows you to reach them at critical moments when your support is most important.

CYB-MFLC responsibilities include:

• Engaging directly with military youth and teens in their school settings.
• Participating in activities with youth and providing coaching and guidance to staff and parents, while modeling effective behavior management techniques.
• Delivering presentations aimed at improving social skills and emotional learning, which are vital for youth development.
• Encouraging creativity and positivity through the use of approved materials.
• Building relationships with families by attending community and installation events.
• Assisting families with transition adjustments related to new schools and homes.
• Participating in ongoing training or other contract activities as required.
• Sharing insights on trends and challenges at the installation with Team Leads.

Additional Job Duties May Include:

• Responding to urgent situations across various indoor and outdoor locations on a military installation.
• Traversing lengthy distances and navigating varied terrain, including rugged outdoor environments.
• Traveling to off-base locations in diverse physical conditions.
• Complying with specific site requirements for work at designated military locations.

Work Environment:

Duties are performed in a mix of indoor (approximately 60%) and outdoor (approximately 40%) settings. Indoor tasks occur within school environments governed by the state and/or Department of Defense Education Activity. Outdoor responsibilities involve navigating uneven terrain, stairs, and exposure to various weather conditions.

Licensure Portability:

Under the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), licensed Military and Family Life Counselors are authorized to provide counseling services to military families in any U.S. state or territory, regardless of where they are licensed. A counselor may possess any independent and clinical license recognized for the provision of non-medical counseling services.

Minimum Requirements:

• A master's degree or higher in the Behavioral Health Professions (MS/MSW/MA/PhD).
• A current independent license in the mental health field (LCSW, MHC, MFT, LPCC, or Psychologist) from any U.S. state or territory.
• U.S. citizenship.
• Able to pass a basic background check, Child National Agency Check, and Inquiries (NACI/CNACI) clearance, commonly referred to as a Public Trust clearance.

Pay Range: Pay Range $57,850.00 - $104,575.00
