Accountant Position

On behalf of our client, we are urgently seeking a talented and detail-oriented accountant to join their dynamic team in Honolulu, Hawaii. This is an immediate opportunity to contribute to the success of an organization by ensuring smooth accounting operations and maintaining financial accuracy.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day activities in the accounting department to ensure streamlined workflows and compliance with procedures.
• Prepare accurate general ledger entries, account reconciliations, and journal entries for financial reporting.
• Support timely and comprehensive month-end and year-end close processes.
• Contribute to budgeting, audit preparation, and filing requirements.
• Ensure all accounting activities adhere to established principles, standards, and regulations.
• Recommend and implement improvements for accounting procedures and internal controls.
• Work closely with the team to deliver accurate and consistent financial data within specified timelines.
• Manage accounts payable and oversee excise and sales tax functions.
• Apply manufacturing cost accounting principles to ensure the effective management of retail and manufacturing financial operations.
• Perform additional accounting duties or assist with special projects based on organizational needs.

Requirements

• Proficiency in sales tax and excise tax processes.
• Strong knowledge of journal entries and general ledger management.
• Experience with month-end close procedures and financial reporting.
• Familiarity with D365 or similar accounting software.
• Background in retail and manufacturing accounting practices.
• Expertise in manufacturing cost accounting methodologies.
• Solid understanding of accounts payable processes.
• Commitment to accuracy, compliance, and continuous improvement in accounting practices.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in accounting processes, excellent attention to detail, and a commitment to compliance. Candidates with previous hands-on experience in manufacturing cost accounting and retail operations will stand out.
