DescriptionPOSITION SUMMARY:Reporting to the Food Solutions Operations Manager or Assistant Production Managers, this position is primarily responsible for preparing various ingredients for food preparation. Incumbents will work in accordance with prescribed USDA procedures.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:* Cleans, cuts and slices vegetables for each production recipe* Prepares, chicken, meat and fish items (cooked and raw) for each production recipe* Maintains cleanliness and sanitation of own work area* Works in refrigerated environment during part or all of the day to handle other refrigerated itemsOTHER FUNCTIONS:* Performs various other duties in fulfilling assigned functions reflecting the same level of cooking skills and knowledge.RequirementsQUALIFICATIONS:Scheduling:* Must be able to work Monday through Saturday and some holidays, 6:00 am to 8:30 pmPhysical Ability:* Able to lift 40 pounds on a regular basis* Able to stand or walk up to 8 hours/day on a regular basisMental Ability:* Able to read and comprehend instructions written in the English languagePre-Employment Requirements:* Must pass pre-employment physical and drug-screening* Must also have passed a TB test Dated/Issued within 12 months of date of hire OR Dated/Issued at the age of 16 or older.Environmental Conditions:* Tolerance for temperature extremes from a hot kitchen to chill and/or frozen roomsEducation:* High school diploma or equivalent preferredExperience:* Work experience or potential for working in a plant or factory environment (repetitive work assignments, handling volume production, working with equipment, handling portion control systems, etc.)Desired Skills:* NoneDesired Attributes:* Able to apply "common sense" understanding in carrying out instructionsDisclaimer:Please note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
