Overview

LEAD PLUMBER (WS-10) – 1 vacancy – City and County of Honolulu. The Lead Plumber supervises and participates in a variety of plumbing work pertaining to installation, maintenance and repair of fire protection systems, irrigation systems, gas, water, sewer and drainage systems, mains, lines and connections involving public buildings, related structures and appurtenances under the jurisdiction of the Department of Facility Maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and participate in plumbing work for installation, maintenance and repair of fire protection systems, irrigation systems, gas, water, sewer and drainage systems, mains, lines and connections.
• Work on systems and components across public buildings and related structures and appurtenances under the Department of Facility Maintenance.
• Respond to special work requirements as a Disaster Response Worker; may work outside normal hours, on weekends, or on off-duty status to meet schedules and deadlines as required.
• Serve as a required verifier for background checks and fingerprinting related to security access for JTMC and HPD facilities.

Qualifications

• Experience and/or training sufficient to demonstrate competence in performing journey level plumber duties.
• Journey Level Plumber Certificate of Registration, at the time of application.
• Valid driver's license (Type 3/automobile), prior to appointment.
• Valid Forklift Certification, prior to completion of probation.

Any required licenses and certificates must be obtained by the time indicated and maintained throughout employment.

• Employment Suitability includes review of criminal convictions, dismissals, and military separations under other than honorable conditions.
• Fingerprinting requirement for unescorted access to JTMC/HPD facilities; separate background check for HPD.
