The Department of Environmental Services, Environmental Quality Division, is looking to hire a Sanitary Chemist III to supervise the General Chemistry activities related to the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) compliance monitoring program. What You'll Do. Supervise subordinate Sanitary Chemists and Sanitary Laboratory Technicians in the day-to-day activities. Schedule, coordinate, and supervise the collection of representative samples. Supervise and conduct chemical and physical analyses of wastewater, treatment plant effluents, and receiving water and sediments according to EPA-specified procedures. Operate and maintain a city-owned vehicle to obtain and transport samples from locations around the island. Perform other related duties as required.
