Contracting Specialist Sme Team Lead

Galapagos Federal Systems LLC is seeking a well-qualified professional to serve as a Senior Contracting Specialist SME / Team Lead. This role offers the chance to work remotely with a dedicated and diverse team focused on mission success. In this position, you will support the Director of the Space Systems Command's Commercial Space Office Contracting Office (SSC/CMK) by planning, prioritizing, and executing acquisitions across a wide range of products and services. You will ensure compliance with government regulations and acquisition best practices while supporting key missions of the United States Space Force and Department of Defense. This is a remote leadership role, where you will oversee a team of ten contracting specialists assisting SSC/CMK contracting officers in procuring commercial services and capabilities. The ideal candidate must have strong supervisory, leadership and contract management experience, a solid understanding of acquisition processes, and the ability to lead effectively in a fast-paced environment. Success in this role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Compensation Minimum: $165,000 Compensation Maximum: $194,000

Job Requirements: Skills / Experience Required Senior Contracting Specialist Sme / Team Lead Skills and Experience

• Active Secret Clearance
• Remote work opportunity
• 12+ years of experience in government contracting
• 5+ years as a Contracting Officer with a warrant authority of at least $25 million
• 3+ years of experience in a supervisory role
• Demonstrate expertise in CON-IT and KTFS systems
• Comprehensive cradle-to-grave contract management experience
• Skilled in conducting market research and preparing both pre- and post-award solicitation documentation
• Experienced in proposal review for regulatory compliance, supporting source selection, and evaluating contract or engineering change proposals
• Expert-level knowledge of FAR and DFARS, with hands-on experience collaborating with DCAA and DCMA to ensure full compliance

Education / Certifications Senior Contracting Specialist Sme / Team Lead Education and Certifications

• Bachelor's degree
• Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA) Contracting Professional Certification, or equivalent industry certification (e.g., Certified Federal Contract Manager)

Security Clearance Must be a U.S. Citizen. A high-level Department of Defense active security clearance is/may be required. Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to government information.

Physical Requirements Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods of time and typing and reading from a computer screen. The candidate must have enough mobility, including bending, reaching, and kneeling, to complete daily duties in a prompt and efficient manner and that may include lifting to thirty pounds, as necessary.
