Description of Work Unit: CEMML is a research, education, and service unit within the Warner College of Natural Resources at Colorado State University (CSU). CEMML applies the latest and most appropriate science to promote the sustainable management of natural and cultural resources on Department of Defense (DoD) and other public lands. We provide technical support, conduct applied research, and offer career development and learning opportunities to support resource stewardship. We collaborate with our sponsors and within CSU to resolve complex environmental issues, leaving a legacy of science-based decisions that sustain our resources for future generations.
Position Summary: A GIS Specialist-Team Lead position is available with the Center for Environmental Management of Military Lands (CEMML). The position is located at Wheeler Army Airfield which is located on Schofield Barracks, Oahu, Hawaii. This position is responsible for managing the project tasks to support the US Army Garrison Hawaii environmental GIS database and intranet site. The project provides GIS and spatial services support to the US Army Garrison Hawaii (USAG-HI) Directorate of Public Works (DPW) environmental GIS database and Master Planning Division intranet site to include civil infrastructure and utilities. Responsibilities include updating and editing GIS data as needed, field data collection with GPS and map creation and printing. The employee will also be responsible for ensuring the GIS data meets all data standards outlined by the Army.
