SUMMARY OF DUTIES

Outpatient Therapist - 'Ohana Resiliency Center

About the Role

Join the founding team of our brand-new outpatient mental health program at the 'Ohana Resiliency Center! As an Outpatient Therapist, you will provide compassionate, trauma-informed care through individual, couples, family, and group therapy. Your work will directly support the emotional and psychological well-being of children, adults, and families across Hawai'i.

Compensation: $42.00/hour (includes documentation time) Schedule: Flexible | Full-time, Part-time, and Hourly (TSN) Opportunities Available

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments
  • Deliver therapeutic services to children, adults, and families
  • Facilitate individual, couples, family, and group therapy sessions
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to support client care
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation

Workload Options

  • Full-Time: 40 participants on a caseload (5-6 sessions/day)
  • Part-Time: 20 participants on a caseload
  • TSN (Hourly): Flexible caseloads under 19 participants; group therapy hours available

EDUCATION AND TRAINING REQUIREMENTS

  • Masters' Degree from a school accredited by a recognized accrediting agency. Requires knowledge of an advanced type.
  • Other (Specify):
    • Masters' Degree in health or human service field; Hawaii State Licensure in good standing and current.
    • Doctorate or Master's Degree from a school accredited by a recognized accrediting agency. Requires knowledge of an advanced type.
    • *Licensed Psychologist (PhD, PsyD), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) or Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) with CCMHC designation.
    • Must be licensed to practice in Hawaii.
    • On time completion of CFS/ORC required trainings.

EXPERIENCE

  • Over two years, up to and including four years.
  • Other (Specify):
    • A minimum of 3 years' experience.
    • Experience working with adults, children, couples, and families is required
    • Knowledge in DSM-V diagnoses is required
    • Experience in PTSD diagnosis and treatment is required
    • Certification or documented proficiency in one or more of the following EBPs: PE, CBT and CPT is required
    • Experience working with military populations and/or Veterans is strongly preferred.

SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Must be highly organized and detail oriented
  • Must be available and willing to travel to various locations and with such frequency as the business need dictates
  • Must be available and willing to work nights, weekends and holidays as required to meet business needs.
  • Must not pose a direct threat or significant risk of substantial harm to the safety or health of himself/herself or others
  • Employee should expect to work two evenings a week and some weekend days during the month to accommodate the schedules of the participants being served in addition to regularly scheduled hours
  • Clinic operating hours subject to change to meet client needs.
  • Working knowledge of Electronic Health Systems, Outlook, Word and Excel; PowerPoint and Access a plus.
  • Strong math skills
  • Knowledge of clinical services and community resources.
  • Preference if you are currently credentialed with insurance companies serving Hawaii.

OTHER POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • This job requires a valid Hawaii driver's license, a clear driver's abstract, and willingness to travel in personal vehicle on an as-needed basis throughout the island.

  • Verification of licensure/certification will be required at time of appointment/hire, and continued employment is contingent on maintaining licensure/certification.

  • This position is subject to a criminal background investigation and continued employment is contingent on a record clear of convictions.

  • Continued employment in this position is contingent on successful completion of CPI classes OR other Behavioral Management certification as may be contract-mandated.

  • Requires contacts both inside and outside the organization in order to furnish or obtain information and/or provide participant services. Normal courtesy, tact and discretion required.
