Bishop & Company is seeking a Lead Project Manager who will be a key leadership role responsible for overseeing the planning, design, staffing, budgeting, and execution of civil site development projects. This individual will manage client relationships, guide internal teams, ensure technical accuracy, and drive strategic business growth.

Duties:
Proposal & Contract Development

• Participate in project scoping meetings to understand client goals and requirements.
• Develop detailed man-hour estimates aligned with project scope and complexity.
• Prepare proposals and draft final contract documents for CEO review and approval.

Design Oversight & Technical Management

• Lead and manage civil site development projects, including subdivisions, residential/multifamily housing, and associated infrastructure systems such as roads, grading, water, sewer, and stormwater drainage.
• Conduct feasibility studies and provide design recommendations based on site constraints and jurisdictional requirements.
• Facilitate weekly Project Team Meetings to set and adjust deadlines, prioritize tasks, and communicate deliverable schedules.
• Strategically assign resources and personnel to meet project timelines.
• Implement rigorous quality control practices to ensure technical accuracy and compliance.
• Provide ongoing performance feedback to staffboth constructive and positiveon design execution.
• Create and maintain six-month staffing projections and update monthly.
• Prepare and submit monthly cash flow projections for each project to the CEO by the first Thursday of every month.

Staff Leadership & Development

• Serve as a mentor and motivator for engineering and design teams, fostering a culture of accountability and professional growth.
• Deliver clear work assignments and ensure alignment across disciplines.
• Encourage staff participation in technical training, collaborating with project managers to develop sessions on engineering fundamentals.
• Actively support staff morale and promote teamwork; offer design assistance when deadlines are at risk.
• Design a six-month individualized or group training program and submit a proposed budget to support execution.

Client Relations & Business Development

• Build strong relationships with clients by understanding their needs and delivering projects on time, within scope, and on budget.
• Maintain close oversight of utilization and alert the CEO promptly if scope creep is identified.
• Champion proactive client service by asking: How can I make the clients job easier?
• Identify opportunities to expand services with existing clients and secure follow-on work.
• Research and explore new markets or prospective clients; collaborate with the CEO and VP before initiating outreach.

Develop a six-month marketing plan, including strategic objectives and budget requirements, to support new business growth.

Qualifications:

• Candidates must possess a valid Hawaii Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• Minimum of 7 years of relevant engineering and project management experience required.

Compensation is unique to each candidate and relative to the skills and experience they bring to the position. The salary range for this position is typically $150K-$175K. This does not guarantee a specific salary as compensation is based upon multiple factors such as education, experience, certifications, and other requirements, and may fall outside of the above-stated range.
