MHS is currently seeking married couples to serve as flex houseparents. As a flex houseparent, you will reside in an on-campus student home, providing guidance and nurturing for a small group of 8-12 students. Your role will involve creating a warm, family-like environment and managing responsibilities such as:

  • Driving students to activities
  • Administering medication
  • Budgeting for household needs
  • Reporting on student progress

Initially, you will rotate among different student homes before being assigned to a permanent residence.

Qualifications:

  • Experience working or volunteering with youth, especially from under-served communities
  • Couples must have been legally married for at least two years
  • Both spouses should be at least 27 years old
  • Maximum of three dependent children may reside in the student home
  • Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol allowed while on duty
  • Pets are limited: only fish and one dog of approved breeds are allowed
  • Valid U.S. driver's license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans
  • Comfort in leading daily devotions and attending Judeo-Christian Sunday chapel services (Note: proselytizing is prohibited)
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Demonstration of high integrity as role models for students
