Job Purpose :
This position functions as a strategic partner with people at all levels in the process organizations and interacts with Union officials and outside third parties like government investigators or compliance specialists. This position will have primary responsibility for facilitating the resolution of labor contract administration issues and for the interpretation of laws and regulations within the employment context and the implementation of effective solutions to labor or legal issues raised. This position is responsible for the effective resolution of internal disputes and managing the Company's efforts in EEO and Diversity. Ineffective handling of these issues can lead to employee dissatisfaction and corporate legal liabilities.
Essential Functions :
Coordinates with HR Manager to direct and monitor the conflict resolution process
Supporting company management team on day-to-day contract administration
Ensuring corporate compliance with all facets of labor - employment law
Supporting management team in all union relations issues
Preparing for and assisting in collective bargaining negotiations
Managing legal enforcement proceedings and litigation internally or with outside legal counsel if necessary
Developing and directing the PVA measurement process
Monitoring and improving the effectiveness of the PVA process and ensuring the integration of PVA in the planning and initiative process
Continually evaluating best practices on PVA and refining the PVA process as needed
Education :
Four years of College resulting in a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent
Certifications, Accreditations, Licenses :
Must possess a valid driver's license
Relevant Work Experience:
1 to 3 years in related field
Special Knowledge, Skills and Abilities :
Experience in contract negotiations and administration
Experience in conflict resolution strategies and practices including grievance and arbitration proceedings
Experience in interest-based problem solving
Experience in conflict resolution a plus
Background in EEO Experience in organizational design preferred
Experience in employee communications preferred
Background in labor relations
Broad knowledge of functional disciplines within the company
Strong interpersonal, communication, and negotiation, and conflict resolution skills
Knowledge of and experience in EEO administration and compliance
Keen understanding of functional areas of the company and their interdependency
Supervisory Responsibility :
This position does not have any supervisory responsibilities
Work Environment :
May require travel to various locations throughout the State of Hawaii
Salary Range: $60,000 - $84,000
