Network Administrator - Senior

TQI Solutions is seeking a Network Administrator - Senior to support Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard (PHNSY). In this role, you will oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of network systems, ensure optimal performance, security, and scalability to meet the organization's evolving needs.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the design, configuration, and deployment of network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points.
• Perform daily checks and continuously monitor network performance, identifying and resolving issues to ensure high availability and reliability.
• Implement and maintain robust network security measures, including firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection systems, to protect organizational data.
• Provide advanced troubleshooting for complex network issues, offering solutions to ensure minimal downtime.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation of network configurations, procedures, and policies to ensure consistency and compliance.
• Work closely with IT teams to integrate new technologies and support organizational goals.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior network administrators and IT staff, fostering a collaborative and knowledgeable team environment.
• Lead and manage network-related projects from conception through implementation, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience required.
• 6-10 years of experience in network administration, with a proven track record in managing complex network environments.
• ServiceNow ticket management experience preferred.
• CompTIA Security+ and one relevant certification such as Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) Security required.
• Proficiency in network protocols and technologies (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs)
• Extensive experience installing, configuring, operating and maintenance of Cisco and Palo-Alto firewalls
• Experience with network monitoring and troubleshooting tools
• Familiarity with network security principles and practices
• Knowledge of cloud networking and virtualization technologies
• Experience with scripting and automation tools is a plus
• This position may require occasional night, weekend or holiday support.
• This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance. Candidates must be eligible for a background investigation.
