Duties and Responsibilities:
- Serve as the program assistant, directly supervised by the Pahihi Program counselor. The Pahihi Program supports all incoming students to Kapiolani Community College who are not entering directly from high school.
- Provide staff support in areas such as academic advising, unofficial transcript evaluation, student outreach, and data analysis.
- Monitor student progress through admissions and enrollment, coordinating and initiating actions to expedite processes.
- Develop and present reports and recommendations related to outreach, marketing, and program changes.
- Develop or improve procedures, e.g., outreach campaigns, website improvements, marketing data analysis.
- Generate complex reports to identify trends and projections for the program.
- Handle specific marketing and outreach segments.
- Advise supervisor on project progress and potential issues.
- Recommend operational improvements to increase enrollment and support returning adult students.
- Receive training related to academic advising, campus policies, and marketing programs.
- Coordinate and participate in program administration activities, especially supporting returning adult students.
- Supervise student employees as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:- Baccalaureate degree in Business, Social Sciences, Education, or related field, plus 3 years of relevant professional experience.
- Ability to operate a personal computer and use word processing software.
- Knowledge of academic advising and marketing principles and practices.
- Understanding of applicable laws such as FERPA and admissions regulations.
- Ability to clearly present information in writing and verbally.
- Ability to establish effective working relationships.
- For supervisory roles, ability to lead and manage staff and projects.
- Equivalent education and experience may be considered.
Desirable Qualifications:- Experience supporting returning adult students through advising and marketing.
- Part-time work experience supporting a special student population.
- Experience with languages and cultures.
- Skills in graphic design software like Canva or Adobe Illustrator.
- Ability to resolve complex problems creatively and effectively.
