Job Summary
Sugpiat Defense is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Theatre Vulnerability Analyst to support theater-wide vulnerability management and cybersecurity efforts. The ideal candidate will provide expert-level analysis, technical guidance, and operational support to ensure compliance, risk mitigation, and cybersecurity readiness across multiple bases and operational environments.
Essential Job Functions
- Analyze cyber security posture reports across the Area of Responsibility (AOR).
- Interface with base cyber units to support ACAS scanning, patch mitigation (via SCCM/MECM), and deployment of mandated DoD endpoint security tools.
- Support Vulnerability Management (VM) and provide on-site/virtual training and mentorship.
- Maintain documentation and training materials for cybersecurity/VM programs.
- Coordinate with ISSMs and cybersecurity teams to ensure operational compliance and accurate vulnerability reporting.
- Conduct in-depth vulnerability analysis, develop patching strategies, and generate regular reports for leadership.
- Maintain command-wide SCCM and MECM status and IP asset inventories.
- Use CORA, DISA, and vulnerability indicator scores to advise cybersecurity stakeholders.
- Prepare and deliver briefings on cybersecurity posture, VM status, and compliance metrics.
- Develop and track POA&Ms and assist in creating TASKORDs to elevate cybersecurity posture.
- Provide operational support to CRR-M teams as needed.
- Manage contractor processes, including NDAs, invoicing, monthly reporting, onboarding/offboarding, and travel coordination.
- Ensure all cybersecurity work adheres to applicable DoD, NIST, DISA, and AF cybersecurity standards and directives.
Required Qualifications
- Security Clearance: TS/SCI
- Certification: DoD 8570.1-M IAT Level III (One of the following: CASP+ CE, CCNP Security, CISA, CISSP, GCED, GCIH, CCSP)
- Experience:
- 3-4 years in Network Vulnerability Engineering
- 2-3 years advising MAJCOM and Wing staff on cybersecurity
- 3-4 years using ACAS/Tenable.sc, SCCM/MECM
- Technical Proficiency:
- Endpoint Security products (e.g., HBSS/ePO)
- Microsoft Office Suite, SharePoint, PowerPoint, Excel
- Vulnerability reporting tools (SIPRNet, NIPRNet, ACAS)
- Training Requirements:
- Level 1 Anti-Terrorism (last 12 months)
- SERE Level A (last 1–2 years)
- USFK Training
- DoD Cyber Awareness
- OPSEC, Derivative Classification, Force Protection
Preferred Knowledge & Skills
- Deep familiarity with DoD, DISA STIGs/SRGs, NIST 800-series, AF Cyber architecture
- Knowledge of MPTO 00-33-1109A, CND directives, TASKORDs, OPORDs, TCNOs, and IAVMs
- Proficient in analyzing scan results and identifying/implementing remediation paths
- Ability to conduct discovery scans and maintain scan accuracy for 100% base assets
- Strong briefing, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills
- Experience with vulnerability metrics, trend analysis, and high-level reporting
- Proven ability to work independently and as part of a distributed team

Additional Notes
- This position requires frequent travel (minimum 40%) to support Major Operating Bases (MOBs) and Geographically Separated Units (GSUs).
- Candidates must be able to support contract lifecycle duties including status reporting, compliance tracking, and stakeholder coordination.
